this is pure speculation. solitude is your default state. when you spend time with your family, who you are close with and trust, you fall out of that default state, and let go, break the routine, so to speak. now, when you get back to being alone, after your brain registered the whole "being surrounded by people" situation as comfortable and ok, it panics and sends a signal that something is not right. it needs a little time to adjust again.

this sounds weird, but brains are weird  i hope i didn't just misunderstand you somewhere.

All that philosophical discussion made me think of a new avatar.

Cypher, Hmmm meat.

By the way on the second matrix movie there was a scene where Neo was outside the matrix, and he stops the sentinels magically.

Does anyone remember this scene? Or have an explanation?

It's like some weird withdrawal symptom, and still I know that spending more time with them at once would just make it worse and get tiring and annoying. The times when I have spent several days with them (like on Christmas) I start to feel like a nervous wreck and desperate for solitude, so there's no logical reason to feel upset when I'm left alone after seeing them.
I guess I'm just ranting here and probably no-one relates, 'cause from what I've seen, most people on this forum are not that close with their birth families?

I too care about my family, but it's more of a "distant" caring.I could stay years/decades away from them alone but would never say anything that i know that would hurt them in purpose, and would willingly help them whenever i can.I also avoid those "gatherings" and stay in my room most of the time.

You can't get out of the matrix.

You didn't misunderstand at all and your thoughts sounds quite likely. Brains are weird indeed and the weirdest part is, that my conscious somehow translates that panic almost as "boohoo, I'm sad that I'm not with them anymore" while at the same time I'm actually relieved about that.
Maybe some part of my brain just doesn't get the conflicting ideas of wanting solitude and caring about someone... or something. I really can't figure my own brain out

With this distant caring, do you mean cousins, grandparents etc... or even your immediate family? And do you still live with your immediate family?
I'm just asking, 'cause I definitely would avoid gatherings with relatives too, if we even had such gatherings  When it's just my mother, Brother and me, I don't see it as a gathering...
And maybe (if you live with your parents) when you move out, you will actually become closer with your parents, more like friends, 'cause you already automatically get more solitude by living alone. I don't know anything about your family of course... just that I developed a better and somehow closer relationship with my family (still only my mother and brother) after moving out.

You can't get out of people either, they are like the matrix.

1.The "caring" is mostly directed at the immediate family (Mother,Father,Sisters). The other group (cousins, grandparents, etc) not at all. Only when i remember of them that i imagine of how they are and that stuff. But it's VERY rare for me to care at all, even for the close family. It' mostly "you can count on me" "sort of caring", with no affection.

2.Yes.

I'm pretty comfortable with my close family too. Hate when ANY family member outside of the "close group" come here at the house to visit. When that happens i stay at my room until they leave.

I didn't get a extended period away from the my family to testify this. But maybe i would miss then when i leave the house, and would enjoy time with them more after a extended period away.
