For humor I typically just say ridiculous things in my normal, pretty flat voice. People think it's hilarious.

Oh god this has happened to me. Some people kept feeding me lines to say because they thought it was funny when said in monotone. It was annoying but they wouldn't leave me alone until I satisfied them.

I sometimes have vague, fragmented speech because I can have a hard time explaining my thoughts to others. Impressionistic means that more emphasis is placed on the tone of voice than what is actually said. It's common for all sorts of mental and personality disorders. I have been diagnosed with Aspergers and ADHD (inattentive type) and when people ask me "how are you?", or "what are you doing", I will almost always answer with "fine", or "nothing". Small talk is very awkward for me.
