I dislike physical contact when it is display of emotions generally. Probably because my emotions don't run deep. I've had situations in which people touch my arm, shoulder etc as a display of some affection to me and I absolutely instinctively pull back.
I definitely relate to these words. My mother is the only exception, probably because she's a person I really respect and care about.
