Do you like kissing/hugging/non-sexual romantic contact?

Postby PA11 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 1:53 am

I'm curious, because most physical contact outside of proper sex just seems utterly unappealing.

Kissing, somewhat

Hugging, No

Handjobs, No

Oral: Yes

Rarely. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a hug or a kiss. But those can definitely make you feel good in certain circumstances.

Kissing: Avoid at all costs

Hugging: Not that bad I guess. Preferably not though. Apparently I'm not very good at returning them though.

I'm pretty much against a lot of physical contact. I find handshakes, punching, and slapping bugs off of somebody to be the most acceptable forms of physical contact.

Nether would I. However, I actively avoid hugging my family members. I find it very uncomfortable, and after my experiences in martial arts training I half expect to be thrown into a wall whenever I get hugged.

I hate being hugged but my relatives insist on doing it, even though they know Ive been reluctant to do so since I was a kid. I've never kissed so I dont know about that. The only form of non-sexual physical contact that im willing to do is a handshake. I even hate when someone puts their hand on my shoulder, it make me feel uncomfortable.

Yes, for a start they can lead to sex
Typically, if some random guy wanting to "date" me was trying to be affectionate I'd find it annoying. If someone I know and who I know knows and understands me was doing it - (i.e. understands what it means to me and what it doesn't and isn't trying to force something on me) who I was also sexual with, I don't object, could be nice, idk. I'd be up for trying, lol. Just when people get suddenly emotional out of nowhere when I have no idea they'd be getting emotional with me, I'd typically be something like "WTF, why are they doing that ?"

My initial reaction is to think there is some kind of implacation or expectation attached to it, especially in relation to how I'm expected to act in response.

Question if there are people who like cuddling pets but not another person; why? what's the difference? (its not a trick question, I don't want to cuddle most people, I'd sooner drown them in a washing machine than have to cuddle with them  so I can understand there being a difference.)

I used to love kissing back in my teens, but now I just find it awkward and unappealing. I've tried kissing someone once or twice in the last few years (after I found out I have SPD) and every time I found myself bored and mildly repulsed. I'm highly uncomfortable with hugs. I hate hugging my family members. My mum always tries to hug me on my birthday and it's all I can do not to shove her away. I can somewhat tolerate hugs from friends because those are short and fairly impersonal. I wouldn't be able to long term date anyone because all the inherent intimacy and cuddling is just too much, too close. I dislike human contact in general, though I don't mind handshakes.
Not all those who wander are lost.
