How do you guys feel about animals?

I eat fish and chicken, but seafood tastes bad IMO. I'd like to become a vegetarian, but I've been too lazy to start . The thing that bothers me about eating animals and animal products is the cruelty of industrial livestock production. Maybe if I were one of those people who bond better with animals than humans, it would give me the extra energy to stop eating them. Am I right, animal friends?

I love fish and chicken too. I honestly could never become vegetarian. Meat tastes way too good to eliminate from my life forever.

I haven't really eaten red meat for years, all in all maybe three or four times in ten years. It's better for my health to stay off it, and like I said, I don't like the animal abuse that is going on in meat industry. I don't miss eating meat.
I know that chickens suffer too, but it's cheap and easy food. I use free range eggs and local providers as often as possible.It would probably be more difficult for me to give up fish than chicken, which tastes boring.

I think cats are awesome. I have two. They're smart, and fun to be around. They can be attention whores, but that's because they know I'm a soft touch.

My dog is as schizoid as I am. We are comfortable in each others company and I believe he is as fond of me as I am of him.

Something I've sometimes wondered: are wild animals capable of love? What about other finer emotions? Survival and reproduction is all they have time for. Do they ever enjoy life?

Yes. Probably not most species, but many of them anyway. If you watch TV shows about animals, you often see behaviors (commented or not) that simply don't serve any specific purpose. And even behavior that does serve a specific purpose can sometimes be enjoyable anyway.

^I've seen those . But since all they do when they migrate, hunt, reproduce and so on is follow their instincts, maybe that enjoyment is also something that serves survival. They don't get lost in it like humans who become addicted to pleasure. It's the way they are programmed. During migrations many animals get killed but it's natural selection. They are like organic robots in their survival, so why wouldn't it be so also in their freetime activities. Okay, maybe they enjoy everything. I know life would be easier if I were programmed to do what's most sensible in every situation.

When wild animals gets put in cage and humans do stuff to them, that's another story. That's when they get mental health problems.

I can empathize a lot more with animals than with humans. I don't have a pet though.

I don't know how much things have changed since the making of this video. Since I'm not an animal rights activist I have little knowledge about how different regulations are in different countries, but where I live it's possible to buy from small family farms and so on.
