Figured this would be a good first. Y'know, I was actually thinking about this topic today. I think my sister's cat is a schizoid. I can walk up to him and pet him a bit. But after a bit of petting, he's like, "okay, that's enough, move along", which he signals with a sufficient bite. Having realized the parallels between my personality and SPD's diagnosis criteria, I can appreciate and relate to that behavior. Also, in my experience it seems that cats give off the vibe of not really needing people. Especially cats who get a fair amount of outdoor time. Not a cat freak, but I can appreciate them more than dogs. Dogs seem to remind me of a person who is dependent on someone else for emotional fulfillment. Those people annoy me. A cool quote that I saw and had to look up again for this posting: God made the cat so that man might have the pleasure of caressing the tiger. -Fernand Mery
P.S. I did not include any animals other than standard house pets because I don't have an opinion on them. Except for non-human simians. They're interesting and fun to watch.
