In moderation....Alcohol is a gift from heaven. I can't drink everyday and expect to function very well. But...a few times a week...it is a great escape. I escape in to a fantasy world. I enjoy drinking a pretty good amount in my drinking sessions....not enough to get sick...but enough to go off in to a fantasy world.

It's medication for me. Some people need to have their escape from reality and I'm one of them. People like me keep the alcohol industry alive. They've long-past discovered drinkers like me haha. If they only knew they didn't have to spend a dime in advertising and we'd still find their alcohol haha. 8)

I burn through about a litre of spirits a fortnight. That's me having a few glasses every night.

I like beer, cold red wine, ice cold vodka, warm sake and warm rum.
I carefull not to get drunk as I cannot behave when drunk.

i drink alcohol but i surely won't get drunk... ever... as SPD i start overthinking everything (also issues) when drunk... and that's something i will never do again... home alone drinking is worst that can happen ^_^ few beers at bar with friends (or mostly alone) sure ;)

I love alcohol... I drink most days and it almost makes me feel more social/happy (as much as is possible) and it helps me get to sleep.

I've been with alcohol longer than I've been with my wife and I have been married 20 years. Lately, I have been drinking bloody mary's so I can claim I am a healthy drinker. Figure that I am probably not going to stop drinking so I am making the best of it. Unfortunately, a good and healthy bloody mary can be hard to get right but I think I nailed it. Testing different types of alcohol is still an obsession so it keeps things exciting.

I'm a bit of a wine-fiend, mostly whites. I never found a red that didn't taste like chilled bugspray. I've killed a lot of cheap Moscato and Riesling in my day, so that's what I get to treat myself. Sangria when I'm feeling sippy, even if I'm a heathen and stir in sorbet or cherry ice-cream. (Sue me.)

I drink "socially" a lot, in the sense it makes other people more bearable to be around. I try to tread lightly when I'm drinking alone and pay attention to my state of mind when I do it, because my father is a career alcoholic. I don't want to lean into it when I'm in a low spot.

All said, I definitely like weed better. When it's legal recreationally in my state I plan to shelf the booze and make a switch.

Last Christmas, when I still attempted to be normal around my old co-workers, I went out with them to a bar (the second time i have ever been to a bar), had two glasses of whiskey (with ice, while drinking water), got spiked on my third and ended up in hospital for a day after hitting my head off the cold icy ground.
I think this worsened my SPD, the day in hospital was spent lamenting "This is a sign, a sign! I should never have left the house!" and I have become even more reclusive and distrustful since then.
So, not good :|

One bottle of stout on my own about once every other Saturday, usually with pizza, lasagna or doritos. It's kind of a personal mini-ritual. And it tastes great. But that's all the alcohol I drink.

To endure socialization, I take xanax instead. If I need to actually seem engaged in it, then I take ritalin. Just a tiny dose of either is enough for a noticeable effect.
Is this now?
