If I was single, I would wait to see if they asked me out, or made further advances, and if they asked me out I would most likely say yes, unless my instincts tell me that neither of us would be happy, in which case I would suggest to just be friends.

If I had a partner, I would say 'sorry I'm with someone but we can be just friends'. If they persisted I would cut off contact with them.

Plus this, except possibly reversed XD
Also, the first time I can't tell for sure if ES is being serious or joking -.-

Maybe because I have a sexually active/dirty propensity. I would want her to abuse my sex drive because it is a constant gnawing distraction type feeling for me.

Don't think anyone has ever said this to me. Or ok, some people have, but they've been full of $#%^ with their own agendas, not true caring; trying to push religion or whatever.

But tbh I don't think phrases like this really need to be said, rather than shown. Words are cheap.

I agree, people don't follow up words with actions. That might sound funny coming from a languid overt pwSPD, not sure, but that's because people might misunderstand us.. I don't have apathy.

Since I am very overt and don't keep my appearance up, this has never happened to me. I think I would be very surprised and just say "ok" and look at them funny.

Last time I was pursued I was in the 3rd grade. A girl and her 2 friends followed me around the playground.

Perhaps because I am on the internet a lot, but it happens to me fairly often (I am overt, don't keep up with my appearance), however I find it hard to pursue anything past "I like/fancy you" stage and we just stay as online crush for a while or as friends with the "I like/fancy you" put into a drawer and forgotten about, but can never go permanently away.

I still haven't had very many IRL relationships, practically zero short term IRL relationships. I tend to lose all my friends when I do because I focus on that one person, perhaps that's why most pwSPD don't want a partner at all? I don't know how people can maintain relationships with several people at once really.

Great, so somebody likes me. What are we going to do? Hang out? Date? F*ck? Not interested in any of those things. Just leave me alone, please.

Edit: I'll expand slightly. One time I had a girl, who I found somewhat attractive, tell me she liked me. My response was: "It won't work. We won't be able to have a real relationship." She seemed to be taken aback and was basically like, "Oh, ok. I understand." She obviously didn't understand, but it ended the conversation so that was handy. If I knew I wasn't going to see her again I would have left it at that, but seeing how I was likely to see her in school I later talked to her about it and clarified that I didn't feel like things would work because, at the time, we were both about one summer away from moving away to college.

Thankfully nobody has bothered me with this kind of crap since.

Yeah I can understand that, definitely. They probably wouldn't understand, but good that you spoke to her again and tried to explain it, so she didn't feel bad/rejected for no reason. It would suck if she asked someone else unsuitable for her on a rejection rebound after all. Thanks (even though I don't know either of you, just seems nice somehow)

I would just shrug it off and think of a somewhat creative way to say I am not interested that also attempted to change the topic (off the top of my head something like Sorry I am an asexual being' then go on about how I just budded so there is a little me running around somewhere).

Depends on the woman who asks I guess. Most of the time, I have no reaction. If I am attracted to that person, I'd probably have to interview them like most people interview for a job and then make my decision based on the resulting conversation.

On the rare occasion I am interested, which has been maybe once or twice in the last 6-7 years, I will ask said gal if she's interested. Usually get the boyfriend or husband response. No big loss. Just thought I'd toss the dice.

The positives of being single and no kids, like freedom, sleeping in, and unlimited peace and quiet are outstanding.

smirks wrote:Oh goodness. That happened to me once...actually a couple times. It's so uncomfortable because you just know what their expectations are -- that intimacy that I just can't give, and then, you know, the disappointment on their end and honestly I just feel so badly about it all, because that probably takes some courage in the first place.

I think, "No, you go find a nice girl who can return your feelings. Stay away from me. I am bad news."

I couldn't have said it better. It's so uncomfortable. And when you actually say that "stay away from me" lines they think you're just shy and should be rescued. No one ever believes it.
