The Breakfast Club? Loved that movie. The 80s...miss that decade.

Hah yeah. I finally got around to watching it for the first time about a week ago with my boyfriend. He kept giving me obnoxious looks and commentary when that character did pretty much anything on screen as if he found terrible yearbook photos.

Agreed though, the 80's produced some gems. :D

Yeah that part annoyed me. The recollection of getting attacked with makeup by the more popular girls in school who thought that sort of thing was how life worked didn't make me like that bit of the film either.

I don't know if pop-art/entertainment produced in the 80s was somehow depressing or if it's just pure subjective association, but "80s stuff" is strongly connected to "a vague depressive feeling" in my head. I don't really miss any particular time in the past, as I've said before, but I really don't miss the 80s.

I liked the 80s because the economy was good and people were not fixated on their mobile devices 24/7.

I was born in the mid to late 80's, so watching film/shows brings back nostalgic times of escaping by watching something that was perhaps somewhat stimulating rather than dealing with stressful people and events.

They had good cartoons. I dont like the direction animation has gone. Anime and manga nerds will rage at this but its just not my preference.

The 80's and the 90's both. I fall in and out with anime. May have been more my thing if I grew up on it, but I didn't really watch any till I was in my 20's.

Where I come from, the economy was downright crazy in the 80s, so there's not even that. Not Venezuela-level crazy, but halfway there. The American economy of the 80s was an unsustainable illusion anyways. So if things went downhill later, it was in large part because the 80s happened.

Or, I don't know, maybe I just don't have a heart. It's a possibility. :) Either way, I'm much more fond of memories of unpleasant things that made my present time better (by comparison, if nothing else) than pleasant ones that were bound to make me more bitter and unsatisfied later on (either by comparison or through actual consequences).

See. Not a situation where it makes any sense, is it?
