Electro-convulsive therapy

Postby russiandoll » Tue Jul 17, 2018 1:31 pm

I am getting pretty fed up with the psychotic symptoms, and also a feeling of dread (possibly depression) that I experience at night. Seriously looking into electro-convulsive therapy to maybe 're-set' my brain. People's experiences with this? Thoughts?

Can you explain this nighttime dread more? I'm wondering if mine is similar but by you saying depression, perhaps not.

I had ect a number of years ago. It was weird because who little snippets of time would go missing for weeks on end. On the other hand it got me out of severe depression when meds were failing me. If all else seems lost I would give it a chance because it is low risk high gain therapy imho.

Basically the night time dread is this awful heavy, damp, sinking feeling and I feel very on edge and distressed. It's more the psychosis that's bothering me tbh, I think I may have a delusion of persecution. It is unbearable, constant feeling of rage and of being so so terribly mistreated. I basically find myself screaming in public about previous times I have been wronged. I honestly cannot live with it anymore, and am sick of it. Going to talk to my psych about electroconvulsive therapy at next appointment.
