New here,and seeing bugs?

Postby blackroomgirl » Wed Oct 05, 2016 1:55 am

Hi,
Im new to the forums.
Ive been diagnosed with Schitzoaffective disorder depressive type, among some other disorders. If you'd like to know what they are just ask. :)
I wanted to ask if anyone else sees bugs
.I'm at work right now and I just see a cluster of bugs on the corner of my desk.I know theyre not real because they are colorful and look a little bit like claymation bugs.which is new because usually the bugs look very real and very much like gross bugs.
My Dr. just prescribed to me abilify, and I'm being weened off olanzapine. The olanzapine was raising my blood sugar an awful lot ,and forced me to be on insulin for diabetes which I've never had before, which is the reason for the switch. My sugar is a little bit more under control since ive tapered down the olanzapine(that's such a weird word to say in slow motion Oh-LANZ-oh-peen)I'm takin 10 mg of each medication, but it doesn't seem to really take away my symptoms.
Anyone else take abilify? And does it seem to help you?
I also hear voices commenting on what I'm doing, and saying weird things like "Put the jelly in your brain and spread it around" and I'm afraid I'm thinking out loud, like other people can hear my thoughts.Like I thought to myself " I would like to eat mashed potatoes for lunch, and the lady next to me said "mmm its almost lunch time" How did she know I was thinking about lunch?!!?!?!! Im a little bit worried about the shadows I'm seeing running around my office, because they make me nervous the way they dart back and forth and come out of the walls.I don't like it.Keep in mind that Yes I know they are not real people just shadows that my brain is making up.
I guess I should wait to see if a higher dose of abilify works for me once I'm completely off olanzapine, but these things are a little bit confusing while I'm trying to work.I'm aware that these are hallucinations, but I feel like I could reach out and touch the bugs and feel em, and the voices Im hearing are very loud and disintupting, and the shadows are a little bit scary.
But other than that,I'm doing just fine.
Also did I mention I am new here.
Hi.

I get the shadows too. I also get rats scurrying on the ground but rarely bugs. And yes Abilify seems to, overall, help me. Without side effects. I was hallucination free for about 2 years.

Do you have any history of alcohol abuse? My doctor told me that if you abuse alcohol for any period of time, and then stop, you'll see bugs crawling around you from the withdrawal.

Also, I've seen all sorts of things. People, cars, friends, enemies (those are scary along with paranoia), I've never seen family or loved ones though. I've seen demons, people walking through walls, I have seen animals, only three times. A bunny rabbit at work, which I chased until it disappears (thankfully no one saw me, this was years ago), a wolf, like, a week later from the bunny incident, also at work, and I saw a goat on my neighbor's porch. It looked at it, went inside, and looked back out and it was gone.

The animal incidents were years ago, never seen animals since.

I saw bugs crawling around in a fish tank on the surface of the water. I later realized it was just the bubbles of air coming up from the air hose. I've never had a hallucination like that before, and I'm fairly stable on my meds.

I've had some episodes of visual hallucinations over the years and some about bugs too.
When I was a kid (~10 yo I think) at school we were studying something I can't remember in detail but I learnt about malaria mosquitoes... something was triggered and I was terrified and for some nights I would sleep covering myself under the blanket because I saw mosquitoes all around me.
Around two years ago I was on a leisure trip with my family and I think I was very stressed about it and one night, in a cottage, I saw the wall covered by spiders, but my wife didn't see any..so it was again a visual hallucinations of bugs... Among the medicines I am on there are abilify and olanzapine.
