I have been mostly symptom free for a while now and recently I went to the dentist and was given nitrous oxide to relax. It wasn't relaxing at all. My psychotic symptoms got pretty severe for an hour or so. It was all I could do to not completely freak out. It did settle down after they stopped the gas. Not sure what to make of this. Has this happened to you? Any thoughts?

Hello photonik,
No worries ! Nitrus oxide, which, as you must know, is a laughing gas, can cause hallucinations, mostly hallucinations on the topic of sexuality, was that your case ? That side effect is more common amongst young women but it can happen to anyone, even though it remains relatively rare, not usual at least.
Hoping this helps,

Matthew,
Thanks for the reply. I did have auditory hallucinations, ideas of reference, and paranoia. Though non of it was sexual. It was pretty intense.
Cheers

Thank for the heads up. I will definitely tell them not to use nitrus oxide when I go to the dentist. I don't want to go through what you did. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the advice. I've never seen a dentist in my country using nitrous oxide, but I know some do.
