How Do I Get the Love of My Life Back?

Postby Snoopy1234 » Thu Jul 19, 2012 9:51 pm

Here's the story - after being together for only 30 days and spending a lot of time together, my boyfriend decided he needed a break...just to make sure I was the one for him and that he wouldn't end up getting hurt. I made a BIG mistake by talking to my EX on the phone in front of him...and that caused him to start questioning things.

I have repeatedly told him over and over that he is my true love. That he is the only one I want to be with and to build a life with. He responds that he just wants to make sure the drama with my ex is over and then we will go from there. It's been almost 25 days and we haven't seen each other or verbally spoken to each other; however, I have texted him and e-mailed him periodically.

He is the best thing that ever happened to me...I am more the emotional type and will say what I feel; he is more reserved and doesn't always say what he is feeling...which sometimes, leaves me in the dark.

SO...what else can I do to convince him that we are meant to be together? I know he loves me deeply...and we have such a special bond that is indescribable. Can anyone offer me up some suggestions?? Thanks!

I'm sorry. Sometimes the tighter we hold onto someone, the harder they run. It sounds like he got hurt and is withdrawing, maybe giving him some space will help him reflect more clearly.

You say that you know that you are meant to be together, why not trust that feeling. :D Know that you can give him the space he needs, some people really need some time or space to think and come back stronger than ever. :D I can't guarantee that "distance makes the heart grow fonder" but you may be surprised. :D

It's really hard what you are going through, have you thought of going to a counselor to help sort your feelings out, and get some much needed support?
