I tend to think for most people there are more then a few folks that can work out.

I was crushed by a reltionship that has been over for 27 years until very recently. I understand the details of why, I also appreciate the wonderful person that I have been with for 18 years, and how much I wasn't fully in the moment with her, so many times.

Whomever makes you happy and loved - that's good, stick with it!

Wow, I tend to agree with you guys. I think true love is something that "grows". You start with that intial attraction, that infatuaton or whatever it is, common interests, etc. and then when you do enter into an intimate realtion with that person, its up to the two of you to nurture it into a lasting thing. Unfortunately most people give up as soon as something happens that dulls that initial high...then they just let things go downhill and eventually break up and start looking for the next "high"..or maybe they start looking before they break up and that contributes to the death of the first love.
I used to believe in "soul mates", too. But I tend to think that there are several people in life that a person can be happy with....as long as they both want to build something together. To me, Love is a "choice" you make new everyday.

I too made a list of what I wanted in a partner when I was last single for 4 years. Then I got it. And now things are gone all stupid. So I don't know how much good the list does.
