Really?

That seems kind of stupid to me. I mean, what's the point in dying if you don't have to? You might love them, but if you die and they don't, they're going to keep on living and loving (someone else), and you'll just be dead. Whereas if you let them die for you, then you're free to keep living and loving (someone else). That's just logical, isn't it?

There's always other people, and weirdly, not all of them will ask that you die for them. So let the one that wants you dead, die.

It's sad but the honest truth is that true love is about the most horrible and destuctive weekness imaginable. I wish it WEREN'T but it is. Love can grant courage to stand up and fight for who and what's important to you.... But what if that beloved person, idea, thing. Decides to capitalize on you? Some of my personal illustrations:

As a soldier, I put my life on the line and ended the lives of other human beings because they were a threat to the wellfare of everything I love. Some of that price bothers me, but it was necessary. My love for a particular woman was increedible powerful and almost divine in it's magic. But that also destroyed me because the love blinded me to reality and the self serving and evil nature of the woman. The point? Love was enough to make me willing to fight kill and die. Hatred is enough that I WANT to fight kill and die. Passionately so. (And NO I'm not making statements of inyent. Lol).


2. Acrophobia is the fear of heights. Love of not falling and dying will petrify many into immobility. I'm severely acrophobic... But also have a passionate hatred of being afraid and weak. Because of this phobia and hatred I became an avid mountaineer and parachutist. Love will convince you to throw everything you have and are away, but hatred rage and hunger for revenge will burn a person alive while they dedicate every waking moment ....

I believe that true love is not just being willing to die for someone, but being willing to live for them. It's a different kind of love but to illustrate my point, my mother used to always say she loved us kids so much she would die for us. That may have been true but she wouldn't change her lifestyle for us. She continued to neglect us in favor of drugs and throw her life away. We would have felt way more loved if she had been willing to stop throwing her life away and really live for us. Anyone can die. In fact we all do someday. Living is harder to achieve.
