I'm glad she took it well! You know, it's true that you should try to keep these feelings between you and a psych who you can unload on for a while, until you have a healthier way to share your emotions, but if this relationship is meant to be, it could still work out. Honestly, if a girl feels attracted enough to a guy, she can put this kind of thing behind her.

I used to think that way too. But man, screw it. I'd rather unload intentionally on a girl just to see how she handles it. I'll even exaggerate stuff if I need to. If she takes it well without busting your balls, you know there's REAL potential there. If she reacts all messed up, at least you see her true personality. And if she bails out at the first sign of trouble, well, you know it wouldn't work anyways.

Yes, you always have to make a good first impression. I don't mean to open up when you first meet someone. But sooner or later you may start to think "I really like this person". That's when you do it.

Good, don't ever play the shell game, P. It's a con job. You can't win. But, it's still a good illustrator of the dynamics of relationships. Learn it, know it, live it.

It looks like Jason did the opening up thing WAY too early. Am I ever going to open up? I really doubt it. I don't feel like explaining to anyone how I got railroaded and spent two years in a psych hospital. Chnces are that she would think I'm a potential ax muderer. I guess I could try that with a really normal looking profile. Put up a nice pic and everything, get a girl to like me and then spring the psych hospital on her to see how she reacts.
