Speaking as someone that essentially has a teenage daughter: You absolutely should try. And you should untangle that giant ball of wire you've got tied up in this mess. It's seriously nothing more than starting a conversation with someone and asking if they would be interested in spending some time.

I used to get all dramatic and avoid the hell out of things. Far worse than you'll ever be. I have a whole personality disorder related to it and I tangled far far too much investment in all kinds of imaginary #######4.

Once you put yourself out there and realize it's not that big of a deal, it's like having a couple tons of weight lifted off your shoulders. Weight that you put there. Weight that you keep stacking more on every time you don't just try something.

It's seriously nothing more than starting a conversation with someone and asking if they would be interested in spending some time.

But I never asked anyone that really,people are always asking me.And it's not the same,this is basically "Hey,am I hot enough for you to wanna ###$ me?" and I'll be devastated if the answer is "No".

Also if you open with that line there's a 33% chance he'll hurry right over, a 33% chance he thinks it's a trick, and a 34% chance he'll just be confused. I'm not sure if that's good or bad for your strategy.
