Josef Fritzl - articles about him and the case distrub

Postby acomlod » Sat Mar 21, 2009 5:54 pm

I was reading an article about Josef Fritzl on the train the other day and when I read that his daughter was raped by him once every three days (in another source it said "almost everyday"), I couldn't stop my tears pouring out. Is this normal? I should say it is but what he did digusts me and when I see somebody on the street looking like him (white/grey hair with droppy eyes and a mustache) I somehow associate that stranger with Josef Fritzl and have bad feeling towards that person (even though I don't know that person at all).

I was never raped as a child so I can't imagine any of my past affecting the way I react to anything related to Josef Fritzl.

I wanted to see if anybody else felt this way...

Hi,

His behaviour ccertainly is/was not normal. However, one must remember that he lived a terrible childhood himself and was never given the opportunity to live a normal life. So, I feel sorry in two different ways here: one for him; and one for his victims. Before you jump to conclusions, I am in no way condoning what he has done - i am merely giving you the reason why he did it.

I agree with chucky, what he did was really wrong, but i do also allow him some feelings of sorrow from me. I definitely also don't say what he did was right, because it was terribly wrong, but imagine what must've happened to him in order for him to inflict that kind of behaviour onto his child
