Coerced means forced but without actual "violence". It's when you give the other person no choice or the other "choice" would be too horrible for them to take it. It has nothing to do with buying someone things or giving them money. And you can't be sure if someone wants to have sex with you unless they say so. It goes for men and women.

there are no circumstances here where it couldn't be seen as rape. He didn't "buy" her anything or whatever, it was clearly blackmail and clearly rape. Whether she said yes or no, even if she said yes, it's still rape because he gave her no choice basically

Terrible terrible logic. So if you buy a girl dinner and a movie, you 'coerced' her into sex with good deeds. Thats rape too.

If I pay a prostitute cash for sex, thats 'coercion' with money. Another rape charge?

If a girl doesnt say no or stop during sex then its not rape. Unless shes passed out or a little kid.

No it's not, there were threats involved. Coercion is very much illegal.

A girl cannot always say no, so no that's not true, if she doesn't want it, and it's clear that she doesn't while doing it is is rape....

Sexual coercion

Sexual coercion means to force someone to have sex by means of manipulation or threat. It often occurs in situations where the coercer has a poor understanding of sexual consent - for example, when boys think (or have been told) that girls have to say "no" so they don't feel like "sluts", even if what they really mean is "yes".

Sexual coercion can also arise when a partner with low self-esteem fears they will lose their boyfriend/girlfriend if they don't "put out". This type of coercion is often perpetrated by ill-informed people who fail to put their partner's needs and well-being on the same level as their own.

If you look stuff up in sexual assault and rape, this is in it too.

Any straight guy knows that the whole purpose of life revolves around trying to coerce girls into sex. Survival of the fittest. Can we help it that god made our brains so much bigger than the females? If you have lemons, you gotta make lemonade.

Woman cry rape too much. Let a man try and pass this kind of stuff off and he will mocked off the face of the planet.

That is a sad and sick why of thinking dude.

Rape is traumatic, and it shouldn't occur, period.
I've been coerced, and i've been raped more then once, it affected me quite a bit, it's illegal, wrong... and anyone who thinks differently is a dumbass.

Men can be raped, and coerced into it and it makes it rape as well, it happens, but not as much as it happens to women. Men need to stop being pigs and think they can get what they want when they want, and learn to take no for an answer. Anyone man or woman who doesn't deserves to be put behind bars, hopefully to be roommates with a big bubba....

Also when someone makes comments like this makes me think they committed the crime as well.

Well I'm a straight guy and my sex drive at times gets incredibly high, yet it's never crossed my mind to coerce women into having sex with myself. It's actually a pretty ######6 sick thing to do and if I thought that was the only way I could ###$ a woman I think I'd rather not bother. I don't see any attraction in forcing someone to do something they don't want to do.

You are right about one thing, some women do act irresponsibly, get drunk, have sex, regret it the following mourning and cry rape. I don't have much time for women like that, the woman who started this thread isn't one of those types, she was raped by blackmail, the only thing I don't get is why she let it happen, she should have let the #####& hang himself.

Men can be raped, and coerced into it and it makes it rape as well

From my own personal view, I'd only consider it rape if the woman was ugly. Otherwise I'm sure it's an experience I'd get over fairly quickly.

Then it wouldn't be rape in your case.

Wait wtf? So its only rape if the person is ugly? Amazingly sexist comment.

So you have never bought a girl dinner? Or held the door open for her? Wow. So either you are a jerk, or a liar. Slapping pretty labels on coercion eh? If it makes you feel superior.....
