I really think it will help me to get out of this town. Not just because it's a little too rural for my tastes. I stopped hitting the bars because I couldn't deal with the idea that I would run into that dude somewhere. And whenever I'm on campus or at the store it's always in the back of my mind: what if he's here?

That thought kind of nags at me. More than anything I never want to see him again.

Thanks for the well-wishes for grad school and starting my life in a new place!

You can start a new life when you get away. It may not be easy to put this behind you but it can be done and you're getting there. I hope you'll still keep in touch with your friend and with us.

This forum seems like it will be helpful so I think I will keep posting here. As for my friend, I will ALWAYS keep in touch with him. He really is one of those rare people you might only meet one or two of in your whole life; the kind of person that even if you haven't know them very long, you can't really conceive of your life without them. He's an amazing person and I really hope we're friends forever.

get help before it goes on and on

Postby abbcm » Sun Jan 18, 2009 4:37 am

Hi, I was raped by two men when I was 19yrs. old....I won't go into specifics, but you must get help! I've learned that if we cope with addictions, me with alcohol, we move ahead in age, but never emotionally. We stay at the same place emotionally because of the addicted behavior to help cope with the trauma.
You will loose everything evenually if you continue to abuse the cocaine, ask any addict. You will continue to blame yourself, hurt yourself and go on as if nothing happened! But something happened that wasn't your fault....even if you were drinking. Some people believe that they deserve it because they were drinking etc. this isn't true! When a women say's NO or is taken advantage of, this is rape! Rape is a crime. Please try and go to a detox first and seek professionals that can help you overcome.

It can stay with you for years, and I believe it started an eating disorder and distrust in men for me. take care
