Dear Fellow Opponents of Sexual Assault at Psych Forums,
On July 26th, a Day of Blogs is being held internationally in which participants will pledge to blog for up to 24 hours in support of a charity of their choice. By collecting sponsors, participants will be able to write about an issue of their choice while simultaneously raising money for that cause. As participants in a forum about sexual assault, we thought you might be interested in learning that the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN) is participating in the Day of Blogs to raise money to combat sexual violence across the United States.
RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN provides direct services to victims through the National Sexual Assault Phone Hotline (800.656.HOPE) and the award-winning, groundbreaking National Sexual Assault Online Hotline (rainn.org) which enables young people to get the help they need using an interface as intuitive as instant messaging, with which youth today are so familiar. Through these hotlines, RAINN has helped over 1.2 million people to reclaim their lives. RAINN also lobbies to pass legislation to prosecute rapists and bring them to justice, and educates more than 130 million Americans each year about sexual assault.
The Day of Blogs is a great way to raise money, spread awareness, and connect with others who are passionate about fighting sexual assault. To learn more and sign up, please visit http://www.dayofblogs.org/.
Raise money, raise your voice, be heard. Blog!
Thank you.
Sincerely,
RAINN
