Fire.. so pure.

Postby Eric_Lee » Mon Jun 22, 2009 5:31 am

Fire fasinates me. I don't think its an obsession, but it is just so pure, and beautiful. It devours all in its path, will burn everything to a crisp, if hot enough, and in turn, causes new life to grow where the ashes of the old lay. I respect fire.

Look at any fire safety ad and it'll tell you to respect fire too! Ah no, I know what you mean though - Fire is a great thing and I've been getting close to it again recently, in a strange/disturbing kind of way. I can't expand on this though. When I was younger, I used to watch how things melted/burned in the fire at home and spend quite some time just staring at it... ...after a few minutes, the eyeballs lose moisture.

Well, as i am a routined burner of herb, i often find myself lost in the flame. I'd like to have a pet phoenix, if i could have any animal. They're the ultimate bird. I find melting plastic to be most interesting to watch, but the fumes = poison so, i have to do it outside.. which attracts attention, and is bad.

I autoclaved a lot of plastic today (121 celcius, 15 pounds/square-inch, for 30 minutes). It comes out of the machine all scrunched u and weird looking. Plastic does contain many poisonous chemicals though - you're right - but I think that fact is also quite cool in a sinister sort of way. I used to enjoy burning food too. I once put a bar of chocolate over a fire using a tongs and then ate it when it turned black and hard.

It substantially reduced in size anyway, and had a really strange taste to it. I can't describe it really. It's interesting though... ...You might as well try it for yourself 'Red :)

Burning chocolate would just melt it, and maybe harden some of the core chocolate moreso. I don't think it would change the taste, you'd probably just taste some of the chemicals coming off the fire that imbed themselves into the food.

I love taking plastic figures.. or toys, and melting them together. They can form such interesting shapes.. just from being heated, its quite fasinating the way these recognizable figures turn into somthing we've never seen before, just from heat.

Yes, the cocoa butter (the fatty part) would obviously evaporate away, but what burns is the cocoa itself, and burnt cocoa has that peculiar taste (obviously along with the hydrocarbons from the fumes of the fuel mixed with it too!). Hmm, I had a thuoght: You or I should melt all of our plastic toys into a big ball and see what diameter it reaches.

Ha, well i've either burnt, or lost all my old army men things from my childhood. I suppose you can get a bag of em for a 5er at a toy store. Would be interesting.

On a kind of sadistic note, I remember my cousin burning a Michael Jackson doll many many years ago before he turned his skin white. I guess he regrets burning it now, but I doubt that he even remembers. Only I remember silly stuff like that. Did you guys have Action Force men?
