Hi, christodenisto  Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you feel numb. I think you are right, it has to do with your depression. Would you like to tell us a bit more about yourself? What do you think made you depressed and why do you have PTSD? I hope you're feeling better.

Hello everyone,

I am from Australia, just turned 25 years old, degrees in engineering and philosophy. I got depressed in 2003 when I broke up with a woman I loved. Since then, I have been depressed on and off. Last year, in the middle of a phase of depression, my emotions suddenly turned off, and I started having problems concentrating - just like Numb.

My depression soon ended, but the numbness has remained - it has been a year since I last felt depressed, but also a year since I have felt sadness, or joy, or sexual feelings.

It isn't depression. And I don't think it is PTSD, because I don't have any other symptoms.

I have been to 6 psychiatrists and none have been able to cure me.

thanks moderator for wanting to know about me!

You're welcome, and you can call me jasmin :D I'm sorry the psychs weren't able to help you, but maybe you can keep looking. I hope someone here can help you find out what is wrong. Have you ever been through some kind of trauma that would have made you think that you have PTSD? Maybe try starting a thread in a forum that you think has more to do with your problem, or in the Living With Mental Illness forum.
You can talk to us about anything else from your past that bothers you and we'll try to help you if we can. I'm sorry you broke up with a woman you loved. Perhaps it reminded you of somethng even more traumatic from the past, and that is what caused this.
