Thanks, did you completely return to normal?
I think in the start of my panic disorder I felt like this for sometime, but not this bad and not this long.

The worry or fear of going crazy is what alot of people worry about when suffering from anxiety.

Numb,
Yes I did get back to feeling "normal". ( I still am normal) PTSD untreated can really get out of hand. Mine was untreated completely. So at first, it took a lot of support to even get me "going again". Doctor, Meds, Therapy. I also went inpatient to a program dealing only with trauma.

I had trauma like a pow, it was very ugly nasty stepfather trauma that went on for years and years. My mind, heart, body and soul could only stand so much.

Maybe I should not say anymore, I will say that my life is better than it has ever been. Is it ideal? No. But that is something I am working toward, and deal with issues as they arise in life.

take care of yourself Numb.

Sadgurl you are soooo right.

Sad to hear your story, but glad your doing better :)
The problem I face is also that I don't know if I got PTSD, cause if I did I should probably have more symptoms, could it be a mild PTSD who just have left me numb for awhile, that will pass if I take it easy?

First off, Thank you!!! :D
Second, I by no means am a proffessional, It could be mild PTSD,
it could be megastress too. Rest, if it does not get better, keep talking/writing about it.

I think it is personal choice on if you choose to see someone about your feelings.

That is a personal call and I would never judge anyone, one way or another. Different things work for different people.

Good Luck and Keep Me posted so I wont worry LOL

Thanks for your response.
I've tried to stay off the internet lately so I won't search up too much and get even more panic.

I've had 2 or 3 days the last month where I wasn't completely numb.
The rest has been hell.
I know for a fact that I suffer the most severe panic disorder ever been known to man, and has been for a long time.
Pretty bad OCD too, anxiety and ocd is something I've always had, but never really struggled with it.
Drugs triggered some major panic that I haven't been able to get rid of.
I've had hypochondriac symptoms too before, every little physical pain turning me into a wreck because I thought I had cancer.
Could this be the reason I think I'm crazy?
I have some real crazy thoughts, that I know crazy people has, but could it be me just thinking this thoughts on purpose cause I KNOW this is what crazy people think?
Just like a hypochondriac knowing the symptoms of cancer, and he feels them all?

Numb,

The fact that you are here, speaking rationally about yourself is the FIRST sign you are not "crazy".

You are going to be alright. It just feels like you aren't.

On the anxiety scale I can hit a 10 at any given time. I understand what pure panic is and what it can do to your body emotionally and mentally and physically. I feel for you so much, but I also know for me, given the right meds and treatment, my panic turned in to something I control. It does not control me.

You can feel pain, it is real pain, but like you said you did not have cancer.

Keep posting. I think it helps all of us to help each other.

Thanks a lot, I agree it really can help coming on here and reading about others "suffering" the same.
I just know I got to beat this all by myself, without medication, that's just my attitude towards anything.
I've been offered medication so many times and I've almost given up and just taken them, but I feel like this is something I have to conquer.
I hate doctors personally cause all they have ever done for me or my family, which has had a lot of problems is offering medicine, cause that's how they make money.
Ofcourse if the medicine is helping you cope, that's great, I'm just saying it's not for me.

I also read something enlightening yesterday that may help others with panic.

Doctors call it panic disorder, which is wrong, cause it's not a illness, we don't have symptoms of panic, we have SENSATIONS of panic.
By dwelling upon this for awhile it made a little sense, panic is a survival instinct, the most normal feeling of any life form.
So medication can't help us, they can only numb the sensations.

It all made a lot of sense too me, I think we all believe we're seriously sick, it becomes kind of a hypochondriac thing.
The lack of knowledge amoung psychiatrists and doctors feed into our fears, that's why I love that theres so many good forums online where the sufferes can help each-other.

Numb,

I get it! Kinda like Fight or Flight sensation??

No meds? I admire you. I tried to go off those that I am on about a yr ago, I was feeling so great. But I did not stay great.... I had to start taking them again. I thought it was a weakness on my part. But I cant help it. I had to accept it was what it was, so I really worked on accepting me, meds and all.

You deserve gold stars my friend.

Peace.

I have numbness too.

It all started with an episode of depression a year ago.
My emotions turned off, and I have been numb ever since.

I was not on SSRIs when this happened

Can anyone help us?
