Hey there
For a while now my girlfriend has had PTSD and it is all kind of new to me. She tells me that she's had a violent past. Not with her parents but with herself. Her parents divorced a while back and that is what apparently caused the disorder. I've noticed that she has good days and some days she worries me. I want to do all I can but I don't know what. Is there anything that helps, or can help with dealing with the disorder.
She's been to therapy since but it didn't really help.
Any suggestions to make her day a little better?
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob I got your PM and messaged you back.
I thought it was just the diviorce, but she dealt with violence as well?
Therapy is a must I think especially since she has been so traumatized.
If she is uncomfortable talking to her therapist and she feels that its not helping her then I think she should find someone new, get a refferal elsewhere.
Therapy did wonders for me and my trauma and PTSD... Also books on it, like the PTSD workbook might help her out. Also support forums were a life saver when I was at my worse.
I started one for survivors once I recovered since it was something i've always wanted to do and actually alot of people have thanked me because they have benefited from it, not just that by my website.
So perhaps that may help her as well?
