Eyesight Deteriorating

Postby OhNoNotAgain » Sun Mar 16, 2014 12:30 pm

My eyesight has been deteriorating ever since I started having traumatic memories return in late Nov 2013. Before then I had perfect vision, now I can not read the interface on my iphone without glasses. It feels as if I close my eyes too tight when I have bad dreams at night and this is the cause. They feel sore and grainy when I wake up. Has anyone else experienced problems with their eyesight after the onset of PTSD?

I know that eyestrain can cause eyesight issues
I also know that constant/a lot of computer use can cause issues with eyesight..

If you're so stressed out from PTSD that you're straining your eyes then it is possible that ptsd can be affecting your eyesight.. in a runabout and related way.

My eyesight has deteriorated in the last year - most likely the amount of studying etc that i do by computer now rather than reading from a book.

It sounds like you should go and check eye pressure. Around here it can be done almost for free as a supplement for vision screening(?). Maybe it is related to PTSD, maybe not. But the most important thing is to check that everything is in order.

^^
I didn't even think that they may not have had an eyecheck done.. incredibly good point.
I somehow figured that they must have been told by an optician that their eyesight is getting worse..

Oops.. umm yep, an eye-test if you haven't already had one will be helpful - they'll be able to let you know what they think the causes could be.
