Coughing in the Back Row

Postby gpierre » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:51 pm

Who am I to deny that which I don't know,
a masquerade upon a screen a fading picture show.
I live my life upon a stage acting out a scene,
lines that rhyme or verse rehearsed I don't care what it means.
I try to understand all the demands of my life's director,
however hard I work you say I shirk always the detractor.

When I don't know what it is he wants from me,
I can't obey or play the play she wants to see.
I can't be someone that I'm not,
or act out what I've not got.
I'll be glad when this is over,
to hide behind the curtains cover.

Somepeace at last from all they ask,
somespace to call my own.
Somewhere to finally relax
somehow to be alone.

I find this pretty refreshing. It has a rhyme scheme in places but not so strict as to make it sound false. Think plenty of folk will relate to it too.

Nice one.
