Kind Of Strange Poem

Man Of The House

Her parents divorced
when she was young
her mum told her
once they got their
own place to live
that she was the
man of the house
now that she must
be the perfect
man of the house
that she is responsible
for keeping everyone
in the house safe
that she is the
perfect Irish son
so now it is time
for her to be
the man of the house
she would continue
to keep up with
her school work
and keep her grades
good and play her
sports as well
she made sure that
she was perfect
in all she did for
she had to be
perfect with how
she was the
perfect Irish son
and the man of the house
so she had a lot
to live up to
and a lot of
responsibility as well
much more than any
child should though
she was able to play
with other children
her age and have fun
she still felt as though
she were being forced
to grow up too fast
with everything that was
going on in her life
