The happiness of a sun warmed rainbow formed in the sky
I walked along the meadow
And I met my shadow as the wind blew bye

"Dear you have the sunshine kiss against your skin
Let me feel the moonlight wash against my face
For I have always been inside you, always within."

"My lovely little shadow, of course you may come out
Come play while I am dreaming
But promise to behave, leave no doubt."

I lay my head gently on the pillows
And dreamt a dream I could not recall
But my shadow did deceive me
He did not behave. No, not at all.

"Oh my dear little shadow where has my body been?
There is dirt inside my bedding, blood on my hands
My hair is half knotted and my clothes are unclean
Scratches on my arms, my dress is in strands
The dogs outside are barking
A body on my floor
I hear carriages parking
There are knocks on my door!"

But my shadow did not respond
For he was me all along

And I met my shadow as the wind blew bye
sigh and song she said she'd die
why knives in her thighs I won't lie
bullets and tears for fear of goodbye

bong n dongs coke smoke n dollars
i stroke her bedazzled collars
fingers poke throats and ######6 in boats
nothing can satisfy her bloat

she eats and ###$, destroys and spews
muse, don't kiss her or you'll lose
defuse our bodies coz we love on a nuke
confessional pukes our lives are a fluke

I dropped her heart in a bin at ER
Thought that she'd die and i'd travel far
But she followed me home and into the plane
because she was me all along keeping me sane

I dropped her heart in a bin at ER
walked away laughing
got hit by a car..

Bloodied breath splayed through grey stone..
heart beat.. slow
her spirit roams..

through darkened pathways
in silent screams..
nightmares flicker
yet, she..dreams.
Shine me a light up
and i'll run round the moon..

yet, she..dreams. it seems
of baby giraffes licking lollipops
drops of blood pink fluffy socks
collecting rocks skip run across

that boy in class who pulled her hair
running and stumbling up the stairs
crying and cuddles with mommy bear
wanting to marry daddy and his beard

fairy bread and picture books
dont sook, just look, at all them chooks!
she wont cry when her small bird died
she blinks and sighs, at least it once flied

My Pal Ted

that boy in class who pulled her hair
he died at age fourteen,
a breakfast snack for that mad bear
was called a grizzly scene

she dared him climb atop the bars
she dared him scream and shout
she dared him til his final hour
she dared him inside out

and as he fell into the cage
she heard the thudding paws,
a monster's growl, a killer's rage,
a hungry captive's jaws.

there was no scream, at least at first,
he barely made a sound,
but as we watchers cried and cursed,
old Ted put him in the ground

poetry!

She dared him inside and out
The inside took the dare but the out
Refused and shout.
###$ you all ,I have no doubt.
The inside run left to do the dare but the outside run above the wall to the other side,
Until they SPLIT but what a Surprise
instead of 2 parts they split into 3 and The 3rd part
Started doing art,
He fell in love with the Sunrise.
The rumor has it the sunrise loved him back.
And he never came back.
Still missing..

I don't think anyone would complain if you shared it anyway and mentioned it as a cross post. Then the next person has two options to choose from or have two lines to merge as a starting point of their poem.

. . .

the rumor has it the sunrise loved him back
her humor his demise
she was a hot one in the sack

wine, numb nights mourning
late start sunrises fawning
every morning she'd cut the rack

why she was here, not there
scared not, feared what
and like the passing sun she set

wine, numb nights mourning
shampain ,numb days longing
cofffee, frozen afternoon forgotten belonging
the glorious setting sun
the memory of drowning in the sea
suddenly re-appears

The glorious sun has set
On once what was
The passage of time, linear
I can never go back
Although it will always be

The sun rises for you
And I am left in the darkness
Disappearing, invisible
Eaten alive by the shadows
Can you not see me?

I am right here
I am here
Here
Please...

What am I if you cannot see me?
Do I exist?
