Can someone tell me if I should get into poetry?

I wrote this piece while listing to some Zevon, to express my thoughts...
and to ask you, my viewer, if I'm any good at poetry



I sit here now,
watch this old screen;
type the letters,
say it'll be alright.

But the world,
she changes fast;
'fore I can blink,
I miss yesterday.

Sure I can learn,
better myself;
pick my feet up,
start to walk again.

But I see now,
that ain't the point;
the point of life,
that's living, pal.

I ain't living,
'less I take time;
tell myself now,
follow the path.

Blaze the trail,
settle myself;
new beginnings,
a home with friends.

But until then,
my long old ride;
she will not end,
until I begin.
