Poems That Turned Into Songs

Postby Norge » Thu Apr 17, 2014 3:21 am

The songs are more or less a blend of prog/art rock, minimalism, post-punk and ambient.

Rising

Fields no more
Though it’s rising
And you and I
It’s anew
Well the tide closes
Our roots are sinking
They said

It’s changing again
I sustain and the land no longer speaks for months
Now I live for the only winter

Soaked red palms met
We sank further down, passed the blank faces
And from then I was something, one choice and a lifetime
I dreamt then and felt the pangs
But where would I be?

All we've had we bled but we did live
But not for ourselves
And soon comes the sleep will we arrive?

Swelling

Mocking me, empty now; who am I?
Swept along it is closing in, but I am
Here you are and it all falls away, it’s gone

You spoke in the open room and to meet that gaze was unbearable
The movement begun, unsure who completed it
We intertwined; the warmth flowed through
Didn't know how it would end but it was mine, I am a part of it

I once lost it when we left, there was nothing
I tried to bring it together but you shared it all

Amongst the sea, our claws were the same
Our gazes meet and they circle, they've done nothing but we shed it all
With yours in mine we move forward

They were inspired by Let the Right One In/Let the Old Dreams Die, Little Star and Silent Hill. There are alternate versions of each song on our SoundCloud as well.

Feel free to share any songs that you know of or have made, I love when poems are performed. :)
