Winter Will End, Spring Will Come

They say winter will not last forever
though it does not feel that way at all
the roads are covered with snow and ice
the trees are bear all the animals are sleeping
until the warmth returns once more
they say winter will come to an end
that spring will come once again
though they say this time and time again
it always feels as though winter will
stay forever that there will be no spring
for the days are short
the air is cold
sheets of ice cover the ground
but yet they say spring will come
that the trees will have there leaves once more
that the animals will wake from their winters sleep
that the ice will melt in bringing forth new life
how I doubt they are right
though each year once hope for spring is just about
gone where everyone is ready for winter to last forever
that is when spring decides it is time to come
bringing forth new life
