Well it's better than not hurting, as long as you're careful with the painkillers- (careful) hugs!

Also please take note of any medication side-effects, they try to list the common ones but everyone is different. Follow directions about restricted activities, etc. Contact your gp if you have any questions.
I was taking gabapentin to relax the spasms and naproxen to relieve the inflammation.
I had 4 rounds of steroid shots that did absolutely nothing for me.
In the end, surgery (lower lumbar laminectomy) was the answer. That was 9 years ago and I have been without the debilitating pain since.

When you hurt, you are not the person you are meant to be. :|

Good Gad , we're all just falling apart . :P

My back is still jacked up too . I'm feeling a tiny bit of progress with the McKenzie exercises . The pain seems to be moving up towards the lower back instead of presenting in my hip .

I'm also looking for a new car . I love my little Honda subcompact but it's just too small . I have to kind of fold myself into it and that's not helpful . I need something with more headroom and higher off the ground .

Sending hugs !

Many years ago I fell and I ended up with a compression fracture of the T-10 or 11 vertebrae. It was pretty painful and I was hospitalized for 6 days for observation. I ended up wearing a back brace for a few months and then was as good as new. I was told I should have no further problems and I have not. Even today, the healed fracture still shows up on an x-ray and the comment usually is moderate healed fracture of the T vertebrae.

Well my back and legs have gotten so much worse, I had to call an ambulance the other day because I couldn't get out of bed. I spent all day and night in hospital on strong painkillers. I'm home again now but need help with everything, I can't even make it upstairs to use the bathroom. I've been put on even more painkillers so now on 5 different tablets for pain. When I see the ortho surgeon I'm going to beg for surgery because I can't keep putting up with this.

Adding more gentle hugs !

I truly hope you can get the help you need for this . It's awful and exhausting to be in constant pain .
