Face tingling

Postby owls » Sun Nov 11, 2012 9:23 pm

I didn't know where else to put this topic, i'm sorry if its in the wrong place...

8 days ago, the left side of my face and nose started tingling and it lasted about an hour or so. I didn't think anything of it because I could still feel by face and I didn't experience any other symptoms until two days later, it happened again and its been happening since then. It lasts about 20 minutes now about twice a day. I am healthy, as far as physical health and I am 20. I don't smoke, drink or do any type of drugs. I've been taking Wellbutrin XL and Vistaril (25MG) for my anxiety but I am getting scared because I don't know what this could be. I have also started to become dizzy and (I don't know if this would count for anything) my ears have started ringing and although I do have high blood pressure sometimes, I was told that could be from that. :?

I made a doctors appointment because I wanted a different medication for my anxiety and I brought up the tingling thing. The doc said its probably from my anxiety but if it happens again then I need to make another appointment so I did and its this week but I am nervous and I don't know what it could be.

I'm sorry if I left any details out, like I said I am healthy and although I do have a lot of anxiety, I don't think this is from my anxiety. Whats your input?

I don't want to scare you, but I honestly recommend you go to the hospital to get checked out. someone I know experienced very similar symptoms recently and it turned out she was in need of fairly serious medical intervention. she's perfectly fine now, but please do get checked out, it might be nothing, but it also might be something, and if it is, the sooner you go, the better off you'll be.

I'm back from the ER.

My face went numb and my hands became numb and I almost fainted so my mom brought me to the ER and it was so pointless. They did a EKG and multiple BP tests with no avail. The doc said its probably not neurological and I have nothing to worry about.

I have lost all faith in the health care system.

if/when it happens again, go back to the hospital again. it's retarded that they sent you home. don't ignore these symptoms. you need to get an MRI.

Do you still have an appointment this week? Definitely mention it there. And don't downplay the symptoms, either. If they're side-effects, you need to know that for sure. And if it's not, it's time to push for more exploration.

The only thing worse than the health care system is no health care system. I know it's not great. Go for it anyway.

I just had my appointment this morning and my doctor also thinks its anxiety again. It was a follow up from the ER last night and shes hoping that if I change my anxiety medication, maybe that would help.
