my psychologist said pd-nos is third most common pd...

I think because people get mis-diagnosed with other things, plus the other forums are so active, as there's new people joining all the time, wondering if they have that PD.

I think it deserves more attention though!

So just popping in 18 months late and I just want to say that the PD-NOS forum is probably not as active as the other PD forums because PD-NOS is not one disorder. It is any personality disorder that isn't recognized as one, and any constellation of traits that are disordered but do not fall into any of the 10 extant categories is put into PD-NOS (even tho my ex-shrink told me that if someone was obviously cluster b but not definitely any one of them, she diagnosed BPD).

I also think that the other forums are more active because they have things in common by default more than people in this forum. All HPD's have being dramatic and flirtatious in common, while not all PD-NOS have any one thing in common other than a difficult time due to having a PD.

It would be nice if people would give it the amount of attention that EDNOS gets, however.

and some great bellies ache with many bumblebees,
and they sting so terribly.

I think many people don't realize this subform exists. I'm not PD-NOS. I've been told I'm just below the threshold for BPD diagnosis, but I relate to different traits of various PDs. I agree the disorder doesn't get enough attention.

Makes sense. I don't really understand why is it a Histrionic PD subforum.
