Tender Sprout--Advice needed.........

Yep, now you people get the "asking for advice" from Miss Cate.

My son has a similar temper to mine. He is faced, daily, with DSM IV parents who are older. He is faced with poverty and with a population that is not understanding of diversity in any way, shape or form, be it ethnic or neuro in context. My son has ODD and ADHD.

Monday, I had promised to take him to the movies tonight.

All last night, he was playing with his "Halo" legos and he took a bath but he would not listen to us when we asked him over and over and over and over to do his homework.

We try to be gentle with him because he is sensitive like we are. I have bipolar and bpd; my husband has inattentive add and R. of course, as you know has the odd and adhd. He takes Vyvanse.

Anyway, because he didn't do his homework, I said this morning he could not go to the movies with me.

I'm torn--On one hand, do I set this as a conseequence or do I have another punishment and just go to the movies?

I am just asking for opinions for future reference. Thanks.

The ODD and ADHD make him act similar to those of us with BPD.

Gotta go see boss man,
