*MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING*

Postby Ghost147 » Sat Mar 22, 2014 12:03 am

So, apparently, I have non-rapid eye movement sleep (NREM) arousal parasomnia. Which means that when I sleep, I can have a tendency to rape the person who is sleeping next to me, unbeknownst to my consciousness.

NREM Arousal Parasomnia is a newly discovered condition, in which a person will engage in sexual activity while sleeping. This doesn't always go to the extreme of forced sex, however, in my case it does.

Fortunately, my fiance loves rough, brutal sex. So it's actually a good thing in our case.

I haven't known of any instances in my past of this occurring. And I would likely have noticed anyway, due to social ques with anyone I may have slept with.

Apparently, when women have this condition, they simply masturbate while they sleep.

Anyway, has anyone heard of this, or maybe might have it?

Hiya I have never heard of this condition but I often intiate and complete sex with my partner while I'm asleep. I am female I don't know if this is what you are talking about but my experience sounded similar so thought I'd post it.

Yes, that sounds about right. So you are completely unaware of the action otherwise, correct?

In my case, its not simply instigation, it's quite forced (even though she wants it). As if I am incredibly turned on and simply cant help myself to her.

There are a number of triggers that cause the action. However, the ones I believe apply to me would simply be physical contact with me while I'm sleeping. Although, because it hasn't occurred before, it may also be due to my subconscious knowing it's my fiance. So her skin, body, and sent, specifically, may be what is triggering me directly.

It can also be caused by stress, previous sleep deprivation and excessive consumption of alcohol or drugs.

May I ask how often it occurs with you?

I dunno how often it occurs it's quite random some weeks it can happen 3 times then others it doesn't happen at all. I would hazard a guess that it happens more when I am stressed it has always happened to me but only when I'm in serious relationships. I am completely unaware until the following morning when a partner informs me of it. Some of my partners have felt quite uncomfy by it as if they are raping me and so have refused to sleep in the same bed. I learnt to warn partners I did this and it was ok.

Hmm, interesting. The most sever I have heard of, in a females case, is simply masturbation. I would say that in my case as well, it would also be aparent only within a serious relationship. My fiancé and my relationship is the only one I have ever really felt deeply connected to. It wouldn't surprise me if that was also a requirement in some cases.
