I was wondering if anyone had told their therapist about the way they were feeling. I am talking mainly about pedophillia but if anyone has a similar situation then it would be nice to hear from you. The reason I said "UK" aswell is because I am sure laws will be different for these sorts of things in other places.
I am 20 now and have a rather complex situation but pedophillic thoughts are a massive concern and I can't handle this anymore. I don't see how a therapist can help me either if I don't tell the truth. I'm not quite sure how to tell them, or, if I should tell them.
I guess my biggest concern is going to jail, even though it is only thoughts I am having. I don't know. I am sure it is quite an easy situation to understand so I don't want to go into further detail. I have posted more details about this in other posts however if anyone thinks they need more information.

In general, a psychologist is not allowed to reveal information about your therapy sessions to anyone, including law enforcement, without your consent. I don't know about the laws in the UK specifically, but it is similar everywhere. The main exception is if you confess to a crime (abusing a child or downloading child porn, for example) or threaten to harm someone then the therapist would be obligated to report you. Even if the therapist were to report you, you haven't broken any laws and it's impossible to be sent to jail just for having certain types of thoughts. Good luck!
