I'd be careful if I were you.
I wouldn't do a TV script. Weeds is good because people are more socially accepting of weed now. But people have very rigid opinions of paedophiles and its one of those things that will probably never change.
As soon as a TV executive sees the script he won't use it. Also, TV relies on advertisement to pay for things and nobody want's their products being related to paedophilia, so nobody would risk losing advertisers for a single TV show.
It may make a decent independent movie. It would be a very controversial movie and no film festivals will touch it with a ten foot pole, but if you could find the money to privately distribute it then I think you might be able to accomplish your goals. If you wanted people to act in it then you can't be picky. Not a lot of people want to play a paedophile and not be the bad guy. Nobody want's to be remembered from a film that was controversial and being the paedophile protagonist, so this may present problems.
The book would be a better idea. It would be easier to produce and independent publishers will be more inclined to take it on.
Bare in mind though, just because it's published and may be selling copies, doesn't mean it's going to change people's minds. I read a book a year ago called "The Turner Diaries" it's the book that Neo-Nazi's hold as their bible and the book that inspired McVeigh to do the Oklahoma city bombing. I only read it because of the controversy that surrounded it. I understand the point they wanted to make, I fully understand the book and like all reading experiences, I'm interested in the characters, it's a good book, its still on my shelf and I may dust it off one day and give it another read. That doesn't mean that my opinions on Neo-Nazi's has changed at all, still hate them all.
I'm not saying your book is going to inspire people to become paedophiles because that's impossible, or it's going to make paedophiles less taboo about their attractions, but simply because of it's subject matter may end up in the same league as the turner diaries, the necronomicon and the catcher in the rye, and may actually harm your intended message by being in that kind of category. People may not read it because you intended for it to be educational, people may just read it because it's an edgy book.
Not attacking you, I'm just telling you what I think.
