You are a good person and your realizations display a mature emotional age beyond your years. What you have shown in your suffering is a common decency oft lacking in scum who abuse children. Starting so young, a commitment to helping overcome these urges will prove most beneficial.

Hi,

I'm sorry you have to go through this--as someone who has been dealing with the same feelings since puberty, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

It's good that you don't want to act out these fantasies in real life. There are many people, including myself, who have struggled with these feelings for years but never acted out on them--it IS possible. But still, it's a good idea to take precautions. You wouldn't leave an alcoholic alone with an open bottle of whiskey--try to avoid any situations where you're alone with boys in the age range you're attracted to. Please don't steal underwear or clothing again--it's way too easy for fetishes and fantasies to grow, and when you start crossing the line into "real life," even a little bit, you're on dangerous territory. What would you say if someone caught you stealing them?

As far as trying to masturbate only once a week, I'm sorry, but it probably won't work. It's sort of like an alcoholic saying he's "only" going to have one drink a week. If you really want a radical change, you could try not masturbating at all, but I'll admit that's certainly not easy.

More importantly, I think you should try to focus on your attraction to girls your own age. You're lucky that you have this attraction--not everyone does. Think of girls you like when you masturbate, even find images of attractive adult women on the internet to fantasize over. Go on dates, meet real girls, don't get caught up living in a fantasy world.

And try to live a full life--you're more than just your sexual attractions.

Unfortunately, you may always have an attraction to children. But you can still live a successful life. Best of luck in your struggle, be well, be happy, be good.

Actually, no. According to the survey of minor-attracted people done by B4U-ACT, the average age at which such a person realizes his attraction is 14. Unfortunately, there is almost no support for such teens or adults struggling with this, which is a major deficiency that B4U-ACT is trying to address.

I'd be interested to hear how this compares to, say, average age of realising one is gay, or even simply realising one is 'standardly' heterosexual.

Personally, I became properly sexually aware around my tenth birthday. I actually remember the moment. I was walking behind two girls who were probably a few years older than me and something about the way one of them was walking suddenly made me feel funny inside. Although I'd had some kind of incipient romantic attraction to girls as far back as I can remember, this more physical, lustful feeling was like an epiphany, very sudden, like a switch being @!@@@!.

I don't have data for that at my fingertips, but if you take sexual histories of gay men, they almost all say that knew of their attractions early, often in childhood.

That was news to me too! Apparently it looks like the other F-word when capitalised.
No diagnosis, lots of opinions, and a bunch of issues that I haven't quite figured out.
