What are your strategies for fighting off triggers?

How do you battle triggers in the outside world?

Triggers can happen unexpectedly to me by glancing at a woman's chest, butt, or body, and it will send me off the deep end. Usually it's while driving, and sometimes while watching a regular television show or a commercial.

I wish triggers weren't so strong.

Masturbate. I soon get bored with the ideas.
Let's judge each other on our actions.

Sometimes, you just have to remove yourself from situations.

I was doing conservation work at a historic cemetery, and really getting a lot out of what I was doing, until the job was about to involve repairs to the insides of vaults and loculi, where I would have come face to face with serious temptation.

So I had to quit. It wasn't that I didn't trust myself. I just knew that it would be triggering to the point of almost being painful, and it was exactly the right decision.

Of course Lucy Faithful would tell you NOT to masturbate to fantasies. Their view is that masturbating to them creates them and strengthens them. They would probably recommend No-Fap - yes that is a real thing, one is not even allowed to have sex with oneself these days.

It's taking things a bit far when you can't even have a Barclay's.

Who is this Lucy Faithful anyway? What does she know?

They run the help services for those who view CP including Stop It Now! helpline and Inform Plus course.
