In my experience, that writing style is used when a person wants to shut down possible responses, rather than because the person wants to communicate anything meaningful.

This is sort of why I decided not to make any sort of meaningful response. It's kind of like when I tried my very best to explain how pedophilia in and of itself is not harmful unless acted upon (which I don't even agree with, but I was play the role of a "virtuous" pedophile to meet them half-way).

I think I would agree it should be moved. Many of us here have no experience of this sort of thing, so don't know how to react to it.
