I hated vegetables as a boy and teen. But I got into healthy eating, once I understood that broccoli for example was very very good for you, I began to like it.

Back on topic, we should be mindful that paraphilias can develop, as with my case, because the psychology has been ###$ up. So in this case it ought to be very possible to disperse with them by dealing with the psychological causes.

But since I am still waiting for therapy I have not tested this theory.

Who was it that said you can't get an is from an ought?

Agree so far as to say that paraphilias, like tastes in dining, are affected by the systems of thought and emotion that habitually arise in us.

And, while some paraphilias may not serve us in meeting our needs, and we might like to move on from them, others may be very harmonious and contribute to our well being and happiness.
