SERIOUSLY??? How can you ever call a child that age a "sex offender" or a "rapist"? That article said 800 kids under 10 had "carried out sex crimes on other children since 2009"? I mean, come on. That is just exploring and being a kid. I did the same stuff at that age, too!

It is! I read a story about two guys who were arrested for shoveling snow! Another one about a man whose wife was stabbed. He called the cops and they showed up, shot their dog and then shot the husband! WFT? Another story was talking about a kid who was suspended from school because he was pretending that he had the "one ring" from Lord of the Rings! Come on!!!

800 cases investigated over 6 years in the UK. In other words (rough calculation alert) about 1 in 100,000 children per annum. And how many of those cases were just parents overreacting. Of course, not overreacting as much as the press. As usual, we see the 'tip of the iceberg' phrase rolled out to create a sense of impending Armageddon led by a legion of leering pre-schoolers with wandering hands...

I'm surprised there isn't a headline like "Pre-school Perverts!" or even "Pre-School Pedophiles!!". Hey, maybe I should get a job with these newspapers!

Things are going crazy. In the US they locked 10 yr old up for 5 years for playing mums and dads with his sister, another case the charged a 19 yr old with stat rape for dating a 17 yr old (said 17 yr old then killed himself) and the 19 yr old is now a paedophile. They put people on the sex offenders register for urinating outdoors, thus categorizing them alongside child molesters and rapists. Things are getting that way over here now, age of consent is 16 but any sexual conduct by a 16 - 18 yr old online breaks laws.
