Regardless of its causes, pedophilia is not healthy and shouldn't be indulged. But by a similar token self loathing for things that can't be changed or involve hurting others isn't healthy and shouldn't be indulged.

Obviously it's easier said than done. It took me a long time to accept and understand myself. There are human monsters, but you, OP, don't sound like one at all.

There is nothing the least bit unhealthy about pedophilia.

Now, there's plenty unhealthy about self-hatrid and the stress from everyone else hating us (not to mention constantly calling us unhealthy), but being attracted to children is not a problem in and of itself. It only gets classed as a psychiatric diagnosis to the extent it is because of political pressure.

I think it only gets unhealthy when one is not able to control urges or when self-hatred is involved.
I remember when I used to be ashamed of myself. Now I learned to accept myself and I live a better life.

Having atypical counter evolutionary urges that would be criminal and injurious to others if indulged is absolutely unhealthy.
Not much different than my well controlled diabetes. I can live without the vast variety of human normal foods. But having the normal human urges without ever satisfying them safely isn't healthy.
Perhaps posters should define how their definitions of healthy differ.

"Counter evolutionary"? Please. You stake out your sex partner early and you guarentee you're the one who impregnates her before the others realize she's fertile. Add to that having a major reason to be interested and invested in the wellbeing of children and you've got a recipe for your ofspring being extremely successful.

As to injurious to others, there is nothing physiologically harmful I wish to indulge in, and any psychological or legal harms are a product of the current society. As such, I posit it is society that is sick, not me.

That is a very dangerous opinion. But it won't serve any purpose stating why I believe sex with those unable to give informed consent is very wrong regardless of what "society" may say.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I rather agree that informed consent is a decent standard. I just think "informed" should be defined by more than "has experienced X birthdays", and instead be about what a person actually knows and understands.
