Snuff movies: do you think they exist?

I don't have dark souls certainty, Randi, but I take his side. Normal laws of economics, supply and demand, and mass production may not apply here. If it is an affectation of the most powerful, they might have the power to keep it to themselves

But I don't see how it would stay with the powerful. People love to share things like that. I think it would get around.

I think ppl would share things too- I am sure i saw a film about this topic.

People share all kinds of gory videos, so I assume they would also secretly share real torture videos. Why not? What would stop them, after all?

There is a guy on the deep web who claims he can get you anything you want:

"I can get you anything from wholesale drugs and precursors to wholesale weapons. From hacking to immigration services. Insider trading info to exotic pets. Crooked government officials to the best discrete lawers. Real university degrees to snuff films. You name it, and I can get it for you or connect you with someone who can get it for you."

Yeah, people talk all the time. And I am not saying absolutely they don't exist, never did exist, or never could exist, but I am saying that I find it hard to believe that if they existed that people wouldn't have been busted with them. Again, just like child porn: it would get out and someone would get caught and that would lead to other people getting caught.

I agree with the rich and powerful idea. I mean we're talking Skull and Crossbones, Bohemian Grove, they genuflect before a stupid concrete owl, for crying out loud. I could see the uber powerful, the kingmakers, the ones who decide who we can vote for and make sure a 'lone, crazed, gunman' whacks the unapproved choices... I could see basts like that being into this. But I do take Randi's side on general consumption. THAT... I say if it existed, we'd all know about it. It's either super hush hush by them what can keep it hush hush, and other than what a serial killer might have in his dvd case, I think that's all there is out there. Nothing floating around for sale. The FBI or DHS would have busted the living daylights out of it long ago... unless of course that mysterious order came down from on high to leave it be....

Frankly, it just doesn't seem that hard to make. With the vast amount of people in this world, I have a hard time believing this has never happened, doesn't happen, or won't happen again.

Those crush videos sound messed up. I'm with you guys that animal cruelty is even worse than snuff (not that snuff isn't bad, it's literally rape and murder with exploitation mixed in).

My theory is, if you can imagine something really messed up, chances are there is someone who is already doing it.

And as someone already point out, they aren't hard to make. Serial killers aren't usually criminal masterminds, if anything, they just take advantage of easy opportunities to catch people off guard. So, it would be the same with a snuff film. Heck... even if it were more difficult, people would still do it if the motivation was there. Think of all the kidnappers who spend years building secret rooms in their basements.
