Forum discomfort

Postby ElKahn » Wed Nov 26, 2014 12:02 pm

I wanted to say that recently, I noticed how much the paraphilias forum turned into a place where people discuss and even promote their own agenda. This forum was a place of support when I first joined it, now most discussions revolve around age of consent laws and even pro-contact stuff.
I just wanted to express my discomfort about it and my invite to you all to make it a better forum where people's issues and struggles are faced and where people in need get support, without trying to normalize hurtful things and promoting political beliefs, as it's against the purpose of the entire site.

I don't know what got this change started, but it would be better to return to the real purpose of this forum as this is intended to be a place for support, not a political forum.

Regarding the vast majority of people posting pedophilia-related threads, I understand it could be a source of discomfort for non-pedophiles, or for those whose pedophilia is not their primary paraphilia (like me). I certainly feel uncomfortable now to post here because of the circumstances aforementioned.

I encourage non-pedophiles to post more so that the forum becomes more balanced.

My apologies for not being present that much on this specific forum.

P.s: I don't accept personal attacks and I'm not talking about specific people, I'm just speaking in general.

I think it would be beneficial for you to look at your own role in instigating or fuelling such discussions.

I don't instigate anyone. I just replied to posts that didn't seem fair to me.
I'm far from wanting fights with people on this forum. This is not my purpose nor my will.

This thread was not meant to stir fights, just so you all know. I'm just expressing my sincere discomfort and an invite to think about what this forum has become. No personal attack to anyone here, so, ctithe, I don't get why you are being so hostile towards me.

I wanted to just say that this forum is not the place it used to be when I first started to post here, but has turned into a place in which some pedophiles openly promote hurtful beliefs that are only detrimental to the original purpose of the forum and for new members who could be triggered, if not encouraged, to lose their morals.

It turned into an anti-system place, where the current laws regarding age of consent are constantly attacked and challenged, and we shouldn't be here to do that. If you or anybody else don't understand the purpose of this thread (inviting people to think about their damaging actions) or the purpose of the forum (support and healthy discussion), then it's not my fault and not my responsibility.

I don't accept personal attacks nor do I attack someone else because that's not my role or purpose. If I did so in the past and hurt someone with my words then I apologize, but I got too carried away and let anger take control so I truly apologize for the potentially wrong and anger-ruled behavior on this forum, but I am not changing opinions, just to make it clear.

No hostility intended, and I've never had any ill will towards you. I had in mind a thread you instigated some time ago that could only have turned into a theoretical debate on such matters. Threads that attract theoretical discussion will invariably result in a variety of opinions.

I acknowledge that some words in that thread (mine and someone else's) steered away from the original purpose of such thread.

I'm glad you say you have no hostility towards me so I apologize if I perceived your reply the wrong way, but you talked about "my role" that's why I immediately got on guard.

That said, I hope no misunderstandings between me and other paraphiles occur.

I'll shut up when you guys do. :)

But in all seriousness, ElKhan (actually, now that I think about it, perhaps I should refer to you as "Joseph" ?), I actually agree with you. This isn't really an open discussion forum, and I was kind of getting tired of all the arguing myself. When it first began, everyone was polite and willing to see the other side; now you guys just yell at each other.

We're going for now, but Levi and I have a lot more that we would like to say.

Yes you can refer to me as Joseph since I have DID. Thanks.

I agree that there were many heated discussions and I think we all know. This thread is indeed meant to make us all think about what this place has become. Chaotic, I'd say.
I was engaged in those heated discussions too and I shouldn't have, really, but unfortunately, anger took control. It happens when I hear about age of consent being something to abolish and things like that. Sorry.

Any other input by you or Levi is welcome. Thank you for yours.

This forum was a place of support when I first joined it,

Was it? I was here (under a different name) the year you joined and I remember there still being a lot of pro-contact "stuff" going on. I don't think I need to remind you of a certain troll who was always trying to push his personal views. I think he got banned.

ElKahn wrote:now most discussions revolve around age of consent laws and even pro-contact stuff.

I want to make it clear that I am NOT pro-contact in the way that most people at Girl/Boy love forums are. I don't have an agenda to remove the aoc laws completely.
I have used the term "pro-contact' to describe my views before, but I was using the term loosely to describe anyone who is not completely anti-contact.

I agree. We should focus more on support. I do think that political discussions can be good, but this probably isn't the place for it.

I'm sorry if we make it uncomfortable for you non-pedos here.
Elkahn, please feel free to talk openly on the forum about your other paraphilias. :)
