Do you ever imagine you are the abused child?

A strange thing happened to me recently, I am not a pedophile, but I was watching old episodes of the TV show Mad Men and there were several scenes where the mother Betty was being verbally and physically abusive to her young daughter Sally and I found this arousing. Betty's behavior reminded me of how my mother treated me when I was a child. I'm generally into female domination but this was the first time I was putting myself into the role of the child being abused.

Yes, that's a regular feature of my paraphilia.

I'm not a pedophile either, but I've long suspected that pedophiles were either
abused as children or exposed to sex at a too-early age. The stories I've read here
tend to confirm this.

Am I wrong? Any pedophiles out there who had wonderful childhoods
with amazing parents and who were not exposed to sexual things at an early age?

I am a pedophile. I was not abused as a child, nor was I exposed to sex at an early age. I think 9 or 10 was the age when I first discovered porn because of my school peers. I would say I had a pretty good childhood. Not wonderful, but I didn't miss out on a lot. I think it is possible however, that I didn't receive as much guidance as I should have from my parents. Somehow I get the sense that while my dad was there for me and loved me tons, I feel like I never had that real father-son connection with him.

Do you think all sexual behavior is genetic? Just last night I read a post on this forum about a man who was molested by men as a child and now he's sexually submissive to men as an adult. Do you want me to believe that he was born gay? There are hundreds of thousands of stories like that from those who are abused, the abuse alters their sexuality and can turn someone who would have been heterosexual minus the abuse into homosexual due to the abuse. Not everyone is born gay, it isn't that simple.

Discovering porn at age 9 or 10 can impact your sexuality. Some young brains can't handle the stimulation of seeing that and it changes them.

Not a good example. He turned out to be submissive as an adult. He still could have been gay without being abused.

Rinkusu, being exposed to porn at that age does qualify as too-early exposure to sex
in my opinion.

However, I'm ready to be proven wrong on my theory just as I was proven wrong
about my misconceptions about gays starting about 12 yrs ago. After doing a lot of research
and meeting some people who became friends and are gay, I realized the majority
of gays are almost 100% for sure born that way. They can no more change their
attractions than they can change their eye colour.

So, it is possible pedophile attractions are also set at birth. However, I don't want to believe
that, but I am open to truth.

I believe each human being has "the image of God" stamped in them regardless of sexual
orientation, and is therefore of value and worthy of respect and dignity. We are equal in
God's sight: pedophiles, heteros, homos, bi, trans. EQUAL. God loves us all equally!



I believe society needs to be educated about pedophiles... that not all are out there
molesting and abusing children. Don't know if it helps any of you to know that not ALL
people hate and look down on you.

Prairie gal, I was not saying that you were wrong. I was just curious to know if you thought pedophilia was the only sexuality caused by abuse.
I don't claim to know the cause of pedophilia.
