Make up on girls.

Postby Maligan12 » Thu Sep 25, 2014 8:44 pm

What do people think of make up on young girls in an aesthetic way?

I'd really like to avoid discussion of the ethics of make-up if possible.

I kind of like it. The incongruity of the childish face with the adultness of the make-up really do it for me, though I do like a child's natural beauty too. Apples and oranges.

I'm particularly partial to painted lips.
Let's judge each other on our actions.

I like clumsy attempts at make-up. I don't like the gaudy, parvenu(e) parent-imposed excesses of pageant fodder. I like it when girls who are just becoming sexually aware put on make-up to impress thinking you won't notice they've made an effort. I like watching YouTube videos of girls doing make-up tutorials. I'm not keen on make-up being used to sexualise girls or present them as mini adults in advertising, to appeal to an adult aesthetic. A little bit of make-up as genuine self-expression can be nice.

It's generally a big turn off, unless it's subtle enough to the point where I can't really tell they're wearing make-up anyway. Children have no need for make-up to look good. All it does is make them look silly in my eyes.

I don't really like them wearing makeup. I haven't seen a version that looked good on a little girl.

I adore little girls the way they are, and it's actually sort of heartbreaking when they hide their beauty because they think it's ugliness.

The only thing I really want to see covering up a little girl's features under ordinary circumstances is paint and dirt from playing or food (particularly frosting) that didn't quite make it in her mouth.

I am a big lover of natural beauty but I do also find that make up can just enhance that beauty as long as it is not over done. Little girls are just beautiful the way they are. I do agree with YouthRightsRadical as children should not hide the natural beauty that they have, they are adorable the way they are.

It's depressing to be honest, apart from when playing at dressing up it seems like a mad dash to escape being a child, trying to become something nature will make them in time if they just wait.
