im so ashamed!

I'm a 16 year old girl and find myself being sexually attracted to my 7 year old brother and other children, mostly lolicon, wondering what it would be like if those hentai children were real. I would never touch him or hurt him in any way, I would never hurt any child. I don't think I feel the kind of friendship or relationship that is typically described with male pedophiles, I mostly feel a mother instinct towards children, so that's how I know I would never touch one.
Why do I feel this way? I was never sexually abused as a child, so I don't know.

If you feel sexually attracted to a child you can't have a mother instinct, it's a sexual instinct...that said, there is no why and you don't necessarily need to be a victim of sexual abuse in order to be a pedophile.
It's hard, or even impossible to know why an adult or late teenager is attracted to children.
Saying more about your feelings, when you discovered them and stuff might help us better understand.

I disagree. Someone can feel protective of children and at the same time be attracted to them.

Agreed. I'm attracted to children and extremely protective of them. Children and animals are the only creatures I feel sympathy for.

I disagree as well. I am not sexually interested in children but I sincerely doubt the two are mutually exclusive.

I totally understand about hentai. Being an otaku myself (mostly into manga), I've definitely read some loli/shotacon. I don't find myself attracted to the kids but for whatever odd reason I really like reading about relationships with age differences, and I know it's not cool to qualify relationships which could hurt kids. Seems like your mother instinct will keep you from ever inappropriately touching a kid, so it looks like you've got things straight in that regard.

Remember this is very much an ordinary attraction, with the fact that the subject of your attraction is underage.

I'm a male pedophile, and like you, am particularly interested in younger children. I feel very protective towards children (I'm sure many would say "motherly"). Of the many other pedophiles I've known, most seem to feel the same way. It's a common misconception that pedophiles don't care about children. It's because we care that so many of us don't go out and fulfill our fantasies.
